The event was organized and conducted by the head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Work of DSUIA, Police Lieutenant Colonel Nataliia Karnaukh within the framework of the National Week of Barrier-Free.

Nataliia Karnaukh spoke about the development and implementation of barrier-free principles in modern Ukrainian society. She emphasized that such an approach is especially relevant, as it ensures equal access to services, information and opportunities for all citizens, in particular for people with disabilities, veterans and internally displaced persons.

The cadets were familiarized with the concept of barrier-free and its main types — physical, informational, digital and educational. The participants of the meeting discussed the rules of ethical behavior of police officers when communicating with persons with disabilities, veterans, elderly people and internally displaced persons.

In addition, the cadets watched a video lecture on involvement and accessibility in the work of the National Police of Ukraine.

Such events develop skills of sensitive and effective communication, and also contribute to the affirmation of barrier-free principles as an integral part of modern law enforcement activities.
