Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs hosted the Interregional Forum “Implementation of Veterans Policy in Frontline Regions under Relocation Conditions,” organized with the support of the Swedish government agency for peace, security, and development, the Folke Bernadotte Academy.

Representatives of state authorities, military command, civil society organizations, and higher education institutions from the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions took part in the event.

At the beginning of the forum, all participants performed the National Anthem of Ukraine and observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine.

Welcoming remarks were delivered by Acting Rector of DSUIA Ihor Mahdalina, Member of Parliament of Ukraine Dmytro Ostapenko, Director of the Department of Social Policy of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Nataliia Humeniuk, Deputy Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Olena Buriak, First Deputy Head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Oleksii Smyrnov, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Oleksandr Shevchenko, and other distinguished guests.

During the forum, participants discussed current challenges in implementing veterans policy in frontline regions, including issues of social protection, medical and psychological rehabilitation, relocation, and the integration of veterans into civilian life.

Working under the guidance of facilitators, participants joined thematic groups to develop practical proposals aimed at addressing existing challenges and improving support mechanisms for veterans.

In addition, forum participants became acquainted with the activities of the Barrier-Free Driving School of DNUIA and inspected specially adapted vehicles designed to meet the needs of veterans and people with disabilities.

Such events contribute to strengthening coordination between central and regional authorities, enhancing support for veterans, and shaping an effective state policy in the field of veterans’ affairs.
