Students of the Dnipro Lyceum named after Oleksandr Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Explored Ukraine’s Intangible Cultural Heritage

MIA Lyceum

The activities were conducted as part of the educational practice program.

At the Dnipro Lyceum of Security and National-Patriotic Education named after Oleksandr Hostishchev of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a series of interactive classes aimed at studying Ukraine’s cultural heritage is ongoing.

The students took part in an interactive game during which four teams researched and presented outstanding elements of Ukraine’s intangible cultural heritage.

The participants explored the cultural phenomenon of Ukrainian borshch, recognized by UNESCO in 2022, the unique Petrykivka painting included in UNESCO’s Representative List in 2013, the Crimean Tatar ornament “Ornek” (2021), and Ukrainian Cossack songs, which received international recognition in 2016.

The interactive game helped the students not only gain a deeper understanding of the history and traditions of their nation but also experience the unity of Ukraine’s diverse regions through shared cultural symbols. The event contributed to the development of communication skills, teamwork, and the strengthening of national identity.

Such activities foster respect for Ukraine’s cultural heritage among lyceum students, promote patriotism, and encourage the preservation and enrichment of national traditions.
