Work of a police officer focused on the needs of citizens: a binary lesson at DSUIA

The event was organized by the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure for first-year cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the NPU within the framework of mastering the discipline “Interaction of Preventive Activity Units with Police Bodies (Units) and Other State Authorities and Public Formations”.

The cadets met with community police officers of the community interaction sector of the prevention department of the Dnipro District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Police Department in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Police Captains Andrii Malikov, Yevhen Volovichenko and Vitalii Minnikov.

The law enforcement officers familiarized the cadets with the main tasks of a community police officer, in particular ensuring safety and public order within the serviced territory. The police officers emphasized the importance of quality police service and solving socio-household issues of community residents, which contributes to increasing trust in law enforcement officers and state institutions.

During the lesson, attention was paid to the work of community police officers under martial law: they participate in the evacuation of civilians, delivery of humanitarian aid, ensuring the functioning of checkpoints, checking documents and vehicles, as well as countering looting.

The cadets showed particular interest in real practical situations that community police officers face. Together with practical workers, the cadets practiced algorithms for stopping street offenses, detaining offenders, and procedural documentation.

The meeting took place in the format of an open dialogue, where the cadets were able to receive answers to relevant questions regarding the peculiarities of service and familiarize themselves with the service vehicle and its equipment.

The lesson interested the cadets, who expressed a desire to continue acquiring practical skills for their future profession.
