Veterans of DSUIA became gold prize-winners of the petanque tournament among teams of Dnipropetrovsk region

Representatives of the veteran community of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs won the petanque tournament among teams of Dnipropetrovsk region, demonstrating a high level of training.

The event was organized by the assistant to the head of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region on veteran policy Ivan Zmiievskyi with the assistance of the leadership of the Main Department of the National Police, the Department of Veteran Policy of Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration and the public organization “I know you can” together with the Regional Service Center of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Teams from various communities and institutions of Dnipropetrovsk region took part in the tournament, as well as a team of athletes from Zaporizhzhia. The competition united veterans who continue to lead an active lifestyle, develop sports skills and support each other through participation in joint events.

During the tournament, the participants demonstrated high concentration, accuracy of throws, tactical skill and coordinated team interaction. The sports competition took place in a friendly atmosphere, and each game required the teams to have endurance, attentiveness and the ability to make quick decisions.

According to the results of the tournament, the places were distributed as follows:

1st place – the DSUIA team “Veteranychi”;

2nd place – the team of veterans of the Main Department of the National Police;

3rd place – the team Dnipro.protez.

Representatives of the veteran community of DSUIA Vitalii Verbytskyi, Yurii Zhurba and Yevhen Luchko, thanks to systematic training held at the university, took first places.

Petanque is one of the most accessible types of adaptive sports for veterans. It does not require significant physical exertion, while at the same time contributing to the development of coordination of movements, concentration of attention, strategic thinking and skills of team interaction. In addition, participation in such competitions helps veterans maintain an active lifestyle, expand their social circle and successfully adapt to civilian life.

Petanque is gaining more and more popularity in the veteran environment and is actively used as a component of physical and psychological rehabilitation.
