On the eve of the competition, the team met with the vice-rector, police colonel Ihor Kovalov.
In June 2026, in the city of Kyiv, a football championship will be held among cadets of higher education institutions with specific conditions of study that belong to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and higher military educational institutions of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine on the basis of the National Academy of Internal Affairs.
The championship is held with the aim of identifying the best athletes and football teams among higher education institutions with specific conditions of study, promoting football as a sport among cadets of the MIA system, fostering their moral and psychological qualities, developing strength, speed, endurance, the ability to work in a team, mutual support, responsibility, as well as for the popularization of physical culture and sports among young people.
The winners and prize-winners in the team championship among the national teams will be awarded cups and medals of the corresponding degrees. Also, individual awards will be presented: “Best Player of the Championship”, “Best Scorer of the Championship” and “Best Goalkeeper of the Championship”.
The team of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs will be represented by 18 athletes under the leadership of the coach, lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training Andriy Porokhnyavyi.
During the meeting, Ihor Kovalov emphasized that the DDUVS athletes have every chance to demonstrate their skills at the highest level and worthily represent the university among other higher education institutions with specific conditions of study.
