Moot Court Session: Binar Training for Patrol Police Officers at DSUIA

NEWS

A mock court hearing was held at the “Courtroom” training ground of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), with the participation of Deputy Chair of the Novokodatskyi District Court of Dnipro, Maksym Taus.

The event was aimed at enhancing police officers’ qualifications, supporting their professional development, updating knowledge on documenting administrative offences and preventing common procedural mistakes when drawing up reports.

The training session was organized by the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure and the Department of Tactical and Special Training, together with the Unit for Advanced Training and Specialization of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning of DSUIA, within the framework of the course “Algorithm of Patrol Police Officers’ Actions in Various Operational Situations (Scenarios).”

Law enforcement officers gained new knowledge and familiarized themselves with court proceedings in cases of administrative offences, including those related to domestic violence and other violations. Participants also took on various procedural roles, such as victim (applicant), offender, witness and other participants, which allowed them to immerse themselves in a realistic courtroom environment, engage in discussion and demonstrate creative problem-solving approaches.

Such practical training sessions contribute to improving police officers’ professional competence, enhancing their operational skills, and strengthening their ability to analyze incident circumstances effectively and determine the most appropriate and lawful course of action.
