On the occasion of the National Police of Ukraine Day, first-year cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for the Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs took part in a memorial event honoring police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The ceremony took place at the Memorial to Fallen Law Enforcement Officers in Soborna Square Park in Dnipro. Participants observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of police officers who sacrificed their lives while protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, maintaining public order and safeguarding the security of the state. As a sign of deep respect and gratitude, the cadets laid flowers at the memorial.

For future law enforcement officers, such commemorative events hold special significance. They provide an opportunity to remember those who remained faithful to their Oath until the very end, to recognize the true cost of serving the Ukrainian people and to better understand the responsibility that comes with the profession of a police officer.
Preserving the memory of fallen defenders of law and order is an essential part of the cadets’ professional education. Honoring their sacrifice fosters respect for the history and traditions of the National Police of Ukraine while strengthening the values of patriotism, honor, and devotion to duty – qualities that define future police officers.
