Self-Regulation as the Foundation of Psychological Resilience: Practical Training for DSUIA Cadets

NEWS

A practical training session was held for first-year cadets of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs to help them master effective self-regulation techniques, restore emotional balance quickly and strengthen their resilience to stress.

The training program was developed by specialists of the University’s Psychological Support Unit. It combined practical exercises, interactive activities and case-based learning designed to equip participants with effective self-regulation skills.

During the session, the cadets practiced techniques for managing emotions and reducing psychological tension. Particular attention was given to practical methods that can be applied both in everyday life and in future professional service.

According to Hanna Mhlynets, the training’s author and lead psychologist, developing self-regulation skills is especially important today. Amid the ongoing war, people face anxiety, stress, uncertainty and emotional exhaustion on a daily basis. The ability to stabilize one’s psycho-emotional state in a timely manner helps maintain professional performance, make well-considered decisions, preserve mental health and respond effectively in challenging situations.

Such training sessions are an essential component of the psychological preparation of future law enforcement officers. They help develop the inner resources required for professional service and enable cadets to maintain psychological balance even under increased workloads and stressful conditions.
