Representatives of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs delivered an outstanding performance at the Open Donetsk Region Table Tennis Tournament for war veterans, military personnel and their family members, winning one gold and one bronze medal.

The tournament took place in Dnipro on 3 July. The event aimed to promote physical activity, psychological recovery and social reintegration of Ukraine’s defenders, while highlighting veteran sports as an important component of rehabilitation.

DSUIA was represented by veterans who regularly train at the University’s sports facilities. Following a series of highly competitive matches, Viktor Tykholaz claimed the gold medal, demonstrating exceptional skill, composure and consistency throughout the tournament. Yevhen Boiko earned the bronze medal after delivering a strong and steady performance across the competition.

Table tennis requires quick reflexes, concentration, endurance and the ability to make split-second decisions. These are precisely the qualities that participants continue to develop through competition, where every match demands focus, determination and maximum commitment.
The tournament was organized by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the SKHID Regional Veterans Physical Culture and Sports Club, and the Donetsk Regional Table Tennis Federation. Sporting events of this kind play an important role in the rehabilitation of veterans by helping them maintain physical fitness, adapt to civilian life, strengthen team spirit and foster communication and mutual support.
DSUIA congratulates Viktor Tykholaz and Yevhen Boiko on their excellent results and wishes them continued success in future competitions.
