The event was conducted by psychologists of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs within the framework of the project “Point of Psychological Practices”.
The class was aimed at the development of psychological stability, emotional competence and skills of self-regulation, support of psychological health and formation of a culture of responsible attitude to one’s own psycho-emotional well-being, which is one of the key competences of a modern specialist.
The goal of the training was the deepening of understanding of the nature of stress, its impact on the psycho-emotional state and professional activity, as well as the accentuation of attention and deepening of knowledge of the participants regarding instruments of self-regulation of the psychological state. Special attention was paid to the development of awareness as the ability to notice one’s own emotions, thoughts and behavioral reactions, maintaining internal balance and constructively reacting to stressful situations.
The program of the training combined theoretical and practical components. The participants examined the mechanisms of the emergence of stress, the physiological and psychological features of stress reactions, and also analyzed the main professional stressors, characteristic of official and scientific activity.
The practical part was dedicated to the determination of personal resources of stress resistance. A separate block of exercises helped the participants to realize their own values, strengthen internal support and form individual strategies for the constructive overcoming of stressful situations.
The leading psychologist Hanna Mhlynets noted that the class took place in an open and friendly atmosphere, which contributed to active discussion, exchange of professional experience and comprehension of current psychological challenges. The interactive and mixed format gave the opportunity not only to obtain new knowledge, but also to immediately apply it during the performance of practical exercises.
According to the results of the training, the participants noted that the important result was the understanding that stress, under the condition of a constructive attitude, can be not only a source of difficulties, but also a factor of personal and professional development.
The conduct of such events within the framework of the project “Point of Psychological Practices” is an important direction of psychological support of the professional training of adjuncts.
