The training sessions are aimed at developing practical skills that cadets need to perform their duties in extreme conditions.
As part of the training of newly enrolled cadets, practical sessions are being held at a tactical training ground at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs. The sessions are conducted by specialists from the DSUIA Departments of Tactical and Special Training and Firearms Training, together with personnel of the National Guard of Ukraine.
First-year cadets study the basic principles of combined-arms combat and practice individual actions and coordination within small groups, methods of movement, and the selection and changing of positions while taking hazardous conditions into account.
A separate area of the training is devoted to engineering preparation and mine safety. Newly enrolled cadets learn the principles of engineering preparation of positions and routes, camouflage and the use of terrain features, as well as become familiar with types of engineering obstacles and methods of overcoming them.
Firearms training is another important component of the practical preparation. Cadets study shooting positions, the rules for selecting an aiming point, bringing a weapon into position and aiming, as well as the conditions and procedures for completing firearms training standards.
The systematic combination of theoretical knowledge with practical training at the tactical ground contributes to developing first-year cadets’ safe conduct skills, coordinated teamwork, and readiness to act in conditions close to real professional situations.
