State University of Internal Affairs accompany first-year cadets of the 2026 intake at all stages of the camp gathering.
Psychologists assert that the camp gathering is a difficult trial for first-year students: intensive physical and psychological loads, a new daily routine, the need to assimilate a large volume of information. The activity of the psychologist at each stage is an important part of facilitating the process of adaptation of cadets to the conditions of training and undergoing service. Therefore, specialists of the psychological support unit carry out the accompaniment of cadets during trips to the training grounds, providing individual consultations, psychological and emotional support.
Within the framework of the implementation of the project “Point of Psychological Practices”, psychologists of the unit organized their own space at the training ground. Specialists conducted a complex of measures aimed at the development of skills in providing first psychological aid, mastering exercises for the stabilization of the psycho-emotional state and support in cases of acute stress reactions.
Psychologist Vladyslav Bidniak emphasized the importance of the acquired knowledge and skills in modern conditions, shared professional examples and demonstrated the procedure for their application. The second block of meetings became adaptation trainings aimed at uniting the collective and forming effective team interaction. Cadets performed the exercises “Circle of Trust”, which helped to create an atmosphere of openness and trust in the newly created collective, “Common Figure”, which develops the ability to work as a team and take responsibility, as well as the exercise “Synchronous Support”, which teaches to rely on comrades and responsibly treat the role of each member of the group. Trainer Alina Horodnychenko noted that the participants expressed satisfaction with the format of the meeting, noted the feeling of unity and team spirit and the removal of emotional fatigue.
Psychological support and the acquired skills will become for the cadets a reliable foundation for successful adaptation, further training and service in the National Police of Ukraine.
