At Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, a historical-legal lecture “Crime against the nation: the legal and historical dimension of the deportation of 1944–1951” took place. Participation in the event was taken by students of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education of DSUIA.

The meeting was opened by the deputy director of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education Iryna Dmytryshyn. Together with the associate professor of the department of theory of state and law Oleksandr Taldykin, they conducted a thematic event, during which the students considered one of the tragic pages of the history of the Ukrainian people.

During the lecture, the applicants of education learned about the deportation processes that took place in 1944–1951, and their consequences for the Ukrainian population. Special attention was paid to the operations “Vistula” and “West”, as well as the mass deportation of Ukrainians from Nadsiannia.

The students analyzed historical events through the prism of law, focusing on human rights violations and the consequences of forced resettlements. To deepen the understanding of the topic, the participants also watched video materials dedicated to the deportation campaigns.

Such events contribute to the deepening of the historical-legal knowledge of applicants of education, the formation of critical thinking and awareness of the significance of historical memory.
