Binary classes continue for patrol police officers who are undergoing professional development at the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning of DSUIA.
The event was organized by the department of administrative law and process and the department of tactical and special training within the framework of teaching the discipline “Algorithm of actions of patrol police officers in various situations of official activity (scenarios)”.
The invited speakers were the senior inspector for special assignments of the department of commissioners for control over the observance of human rights in police activity (with deployment in Dnipropetrovsk region) of the human rights observance department of the Department of the Main Inspection and Human Rights Observance of the National Police of Ukraine, police major Nataliia Urman and the senior inspector of the department for the organization of the activity of temporary detention facilities and monitoring of actions with detainees of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region, police captain Maksym Tsesko.
Nataliia Urman emphasized that police activity is not only powers and duties, but above all – responsibility for the observance of the rights and freedoms of every person.
The role and powers of human rights inspectors, the importance of tolerant, correct and barrier-free communication, as well as gender-sensitive language in the work of a police officer were discussed.
Special attention to video recording as an important instrument that helps police officers to qualitatively perform their powers and protects the rights of both citizens and the police officers themselves.
Those present familiarized themselves with the functioning of the information subsystem “Custody Records”, its advantages and importance for ensuring proper treatment of detainees and preventing human rights violations.
The meeting became interesting and saturated with questions and discussions of practical examples.
