The event was conducted within the framework of the professional development of patrol police officers at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs and was organized by the department of administrative law and process and the department of tactical and special training.

With the aim of deepening the practical skills of police officers and their familiarization with the peculiarities of carrying out administrative proceedings, within the framework of mastering the academic discipline “Algorithm of actions of patrol police officers in various situations of official activity (scenarios)”, a model court session was conducted with the participation of the judge of the Samarskyi District Court of the city of Dnipro Oksana Poshtarenko.
The class took place at the training ground “Courtroom” of DSUIA. Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education also took part in the court session.

The participants simulated a real court hearing of cases of domestic violence according to a previously defined set of facts, in which patrol police officers performed the roles of persons brought to administrative responsibility, victims, witnesses, legal representatives.
The participants demonstrated skills of legal argumentation, analysis of evidence, interrogation of participants of the process, observance of procedural order and professional ethics.
Such a format of training gives law enforcement officers the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the norms of administrative and criminal legislation, as well as to feel the peculiarities of real court proceedings.
Participation in model court sessions contributes to the development of professional thinking, skills of legal argumentation, analysis of collected evidence and correct application of legal norms in practice.
