The event was conducted by the department of psychological support for students of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education of DSUIA.
The moderator of the class, aimed at familiarization and practicing the algorithms of providing first psychological aid in crisis situations, was psychologist Vladyslav Bidniak. The peculiarity of the meeting was the case study format – the analysis of specific practical situations from the real professional experience of psychologists of DSUIA.
In the first block, the students familiarized themselves with the main tasks of crisis intervention. Particular interest was aroused by the second block, dedicated to the consideration of specific cases of providing first psychological aid to persons who suffered as a result of the armed military aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, with the observance of the principle of confidentiality.
During the analysis of the cases, the students joined the discussion, shared their life experience and their own understanding of the work of a psychologist during crisis intervention. This helped future psychologists to analyze step by step the algorithm of actions: from establishing contact and ensuring the basic needs of the affected person to stabilizing their emotional state and information support.
The head of the department of psychological support of DSUIA Serhii Vyshnevskyi emphasized that such classes help psychology students already from the first months of study to form practical skills necessary for working with people in modern conditions, and lay the foundation of professional competence, which will develop throughout the entire period of study.
The moderator of the event Vladyslav Bidniak also emphasized that the acquired knowledge is relevant not only for the future professional activity of a psychologist, but also for everyday life under conditions of increased stress factors.
