The meeting together with representatives of the Regional Service Center of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions was organized on the basis of the State Commercial Enterprise “Dnipropetrovsk Experimental Prosthetic-Orthopedic Enterprise”.
The head of the department of automobile training of DSUIA, military veteran Yevhenii Khokhlov familiarized those present with the activity of the university, the conditions for obtaining higher education and the opportunities for further employment in the educational institution.
Special attention was paid to the work of the Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA. The participants of the meeting were explained the categories of driver training for persons with disabilities, the peculiarities of the equipment of training cars and the procedure for undergoing training. In addition, the participants received information about the procedure for receiving services in the service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the possibility of re-equipping vehicles.
Military veterans talked with the driver-instructor and inspected a specially adapted car used for practical classes, and tried their hand at driving a car.
The conduct of such events contributes to the social reintegration of war veterans and persons with disabilities, expands their opportunities for professional development and independent movement, and also demonstrates the practical implementation of the principles of barrier-free access in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA systematically contributes to increasing the level of independence and social realization of veterans, servicemen and persons with disabilities, expanding their opportunities in everyday life.
