The class was conducted by the professor of the department of social disciplines and psychology Svitlana Khaminich for applicants of higher education of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education of the study group Bd-S4-26-1 of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Innovative Education of DSUIA within the framework of mastering the academic discipline “General Psychology”.
The invited speaker was a practical psychologist, representative of the public organization “Hearts Scorched by War”, member of the Ukrainian Association of Art Therapists Anna Malenyk.
The students familiarized themselves with the topic “Human consciousness as the highest level of reflection”, considered the signs, functions and levels of consciousness, as well as its role in the cognition of reality and the regulation of personality behavior.
With the applicants, an educational game was conducted and practical cases were worked out. On the materials from the activity of the public organization “Hearts Scorched by War” and the art-therapeutic practice of the speaker, the students became convinced that consciousness as the highest level of reflection determines the ability of a person to comprehend their own experience and act responsibly, in particular in difficult life circumstances.
In the opinion of the organizers of the event, such classes contribute to the deepening of the theoretical knowledge of students, the formation of practical skills in the application of psychological knowledge and the understanding of the peculiarities of the activity of a practicing psychologist in the sphere of mental health.
