On the eve of the celebration of the Day of Education Workers in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the 2nd Educational Forum “Education of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: unity, resilience, development” took place. The forum was organized by the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the assistance of the Consultative Mission of the European Union in Ukraine.

At the beginning of the event, those present honored with a moment of silence the courage, loyalty, patriotism and heroism of those who laid down their lives for the unity and independence of Ukraine, as well as the memory of those who died during the performance of professional and official duties.

During her speech to the participants of the forum, among whom were representatives of educational institutions of the bodies of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Secretary Inna Yashchuk addressed, who noted that today more than 35 thousand applicants are studying in the education system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, among them more than 10 thousand – cadets. In her speech, the State Secretary focused attention on the main goal of the forum: Inna Yashchuk emphasized that the result of the work of lecturers of educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is trained graduates who, starting service, face real situations, the safety and lives of Ukrainians depend on their decisions and actions. She emphasized the importance of exchanging experience regarding the training of future specialists, improving the educational process and prompt response to the challenges caused by the war.

Also, during the forum, the Head of the Consultative Mission of the European Union in Ukraine Cornelia Taylor spoke. She emphasized that the EUAM has been cooperating with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its educational institutions for many years, and also shares the experience accumulated in the countries of the European Union.

After the solemn part, the participants of the forum joined an open conversation and exchange of opinions. In the first professional panel “Development of security education in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: achievements and prospects”, the speakers were the deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Andrii Niebytov, the deputy Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations Volodymyr Demchuk, the acting Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Vadym Chenchyk, the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Oleksandr Pivnenko and the director of the State Scientific-Research Expert-Criminalistics Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yevhenii Kolesnyk. They spoke about the achievements of educational institutions of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the accumulated experience, introduced educational practices, current challenges, as well as concrete steps and prospects for further development. The moderator of this panel was the director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Oleksandr Tarasenko. He emphasized that among the important tasks facing the state, a special place is occupied by ensuring quality education of the security and defense sector of Ukraine.

During the second panel “Education on the path to the EU: we prepare specialists of the future”, the participants of the forum discussed the development of international partnership, the introduction of modern standards, the strengthening of practical training and the formation of competences necessary for a specialist of the future, the cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Consultative Mission of the European Union in Ukraine in the training of specialists for the needs of the bodies of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the development of educational activity in Ukraine.

During the forum, representatives of educational institutions of the bodies of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were awarded medals, breast badges, certificates of honor, thanks, as well as departmental incentive distinctions.

The Gratitude of the person temporarily performing the duties of the Head of the National Police of Ukraine for the successful and conscientious performance of official duty, loyalty to the Oath, high professionalism, significant personal contribution to the cause of ensuring human rights and freedoms, counteraction to crime, maintenance of public (community) safety and order, high personal achievements in official activity and professional achievements was announced to police lieutenant colonel Yevhen Zelenskyi.

The departmental incentive distinction – the breast badge “For distinction in service” — was awarded to the cadet of the faculty of training specialists for pre-trial investigation bodies of the National Police of Ukraine, police corporal Denys Lushpaiev.
