The university was presented by the assistant to the rector of DSUIA for work with veterans Oleksandr Hryshchuk and the inspector of the sports team of the department of social and humanitarian work of DSUIA, champion of Ukraine in bench press Artem Hudzenko.

Representatives of the educational institution visited the State Commercial Enterprise “Dnipropetrovsk Experimental Prosthetic-Orthopedic Enterprise”, the Superhumans Dnipro Center and the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after I. Mechnikov.
During the meetings, Oleksandr HRYSHCHUK and Artem HUDZENKO familiarized the patients of medical and rehabilitation institutions with the directions of activity of DSUIA, the opportunities for obtaining higher education, professional reorientation and further employment at the university.
Special attention was paid to the activity of the Barrier-Free Driving School of DSUIA, which ensures the accessibility of learning to drive vehicles for persons with disabilities, in particular military veterans. The participants of the meetings were explained the conditions of admission, the available categories of training and retraining of drivers, as well as the opportunities for restoring personal mobility.
An important component of the presentation were the programs of adaptive sports, which are systematically implemented on the basis of the university. The veterans were informed about the activity of “Veterans’ Basket” – the first team in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in adaptive basketball, regular table tennis training, petanque, classes in the gym and other directions of physical recovery.
The conduct of such meetings is a component of the comprehensive approach of DSUIA to the implementation of veteran policy, aimed at creating an accessible educational, professional and sports environment. Direct interaction with veterans who are undergoing treatment and rehabilitation contributes to their information about available opportunities, support of social adaptation, professional reintegration and return to active social life.
