NEWS

Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs held an elective session for first-year cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for the Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine who are specialising in Criminal Analysis.

The session was organised by the faculty’s Department of Operational Investigative Activities to deepen the professional knowledge of future specialists in the National Police’s criminal analysis units.

The session covered procedures for conducting information retrieval and analytical work, including the collection, organisation, assessment, and use of information to support the fulfilment of police responsibilities.

Particular attention was paid to procedures for handling restricted-access information, complying with established rules governing its use, and transferring it to authorised units for action within their designated areas of responsibility.

The cadets also learned about the principles of risk assessment, the analysis of information datasets, and the preparation of analytical conclusions needed to support informed management and operational decisions.

Such sessions help develop analytical thinking, the ability to work with large volumes of information, and the professional competencies required for effective work in the National Police’s criminal analysis units.
