The first Military-Technological Sports Championship among cadets of higher education institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (MIA) and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), as well as higher military educational institutions of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) and the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU), has taken place.

The sporting event was held in this format for the first time. It brought together 11 cadet teams from higher education institutions within the MIA system to compete in practical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) piloting challenges. The championship provided a platform for demonstrating technical proficiency, piloting skills, crew coordination and the ability to perform under time constraints.
The event was organized by the MIA of Ukraine’s Department of Education, Science and Sports, Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) and the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine.

At the opening ceremony, Ihor Kovalov, Deputy Rector of DSUIA and Police Colonel, addressed the participants:
“Military-technological sports have a clear practical focus. Developing skills in operating unmanned systems is now an integral part of the professional training of modern police officers. Competitions of this kind give cadets hands-on experience with technologies that are already widely used in operational activities.”

Each team consisted of four cadets divided into two crews, along with a coach. The competitors tested their skills across two stages. In the first stage, FPV drone crews navigated a specially designed obstacle course, where precise maneuvering, quick reactions and seamless coordination between the pilot and the navigator-technician were essential.

The second stage involved aerial reconnaissance of the terrain, locating targets using specified coordinates and accurately dropping simulated munitions from DJI Mavic 3 quadcopters. Participants demonstrated their navigation skills, proficiency in relevant software, ability to assess operational situations and teamwork. Head-to-head FPV drone racing was also held.

Throughout the championship, the cadets showcased their reflexes, piloting expertise and sportsmanship.
The final standings were as follows:
1st place — Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA)
2nd place — National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine
3rd place — Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs
The winners and runners-up received cups, diplomas and medals presented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Support from SkyFall was an important part of the championship’s successful organization, helping ensure appropriate conditions for the competition. With the sponsor’s assistance, meals were provided, gifts were prepared for all participants, and valuable prizes and awards were presented to the athletes who took first, second and third place.

Congratulations to our champions! We wish them continued success and many more achievements in the future!
